![]() ![]() I ultimately use it primarily for the world card. Programming it without an editor is not possible. ![]() The mr-rack is probably my favorite rom based synth for presets. I have mirage, eps, eps16+, mr-rack (with world, drums and urban expansions) and a ts-10. There are a few other models, which I'm not familiar with. They should all have poly aftertouch, except for the Mirage, ESQ-1 and TS-12. The MR and Fizmo share some sounds, but neither one is a complete replacement for the other, and they are both unique in their own way. The Mirage is unique in lots of ways compared to the other samplers in it's family. Some of them have their own unique quirks that people prefer. You can't really go wrong with the second latest model either. Usually that means the best specs and capabilities. If you want the "best", I would just start looking at the most recent one in each family tree. ![]() Some people may argue that the TS-10/TS-12 belong in the same family as VFX and SD-1, but I think they are unique enough to classify differently. These are the main ones I have been interested in over the years, and the different family tree that I consider them in. A Fizmo keyboard or rack would be nice also, but not sure if I will ever have the money and space for it. ![]() The main thing I still want is the SQ-80, but I will probably end up getting an ESQ-M Rack instead to save space. The EPS 16+ is a very capable machine, but I just keep mine in storage right now for space reasons, because the ASR-10 can do everything I need. I have an EPS 16+, ASR-10, ASR-X Pro and MR Rack. The transwave set in the TS10 is smaller than the VFX/SD1 and the audio engine is different.I like them all. I know what a transwave is.I owned the ASR-10 and ASR-X in the past, and now I don´t want to make and transfer them to start making stuff TS series fully backwards compatible with vfx, sd series, plus you can load in samples and mangle them, so i'm not sure why you're avoidant of the TS series. Not only do you get more of what you want (pure waves) but you get more of everything else. This is why i am recommending the TS series to you. Look into what a transwave is it is basically wavetable synthesis with the ability to make the base waveforms themselves more dynamic. I know what you mean and the TS series has a lot more waves built in. I like it for the sound character of the pure waves (not just the transwaves ones) and the synthesis capabilities (2 filters, 3 EGs, layering, fx, modulations) I don´t know exactly what do you mean, but by "ROMpler" I mean just the fact that it has fixed waves in ROM, period. SD1 is only a "rompler" if you have stacks of floppy disks to use with it.
